Routine health checks

A full nose-to-tail exam is recommended every 6 to 12 months to pick up on any subtle changes or abnormalities that may otherwise go un-noticed. We often team these preventative check-ups with other services such as essential vaccinations, bloodwork and fecal testing.

Vaccinations

Our companion animals require regular vaccinations to keep them safe from dangerous diseases. Our canine and feline vaccine packages cover the essential vaccinations as recommended by American Animal Hospital Association ("AAHA").

Puppy and kitten clinics

When you take on a new furry friend into your family, there's often lots of questions you need answers to, as well as reassurance that your new pet is healthy and happy, receiving the best preventative care possible. Our team are here to do just that. From advice regarding nutrition, parasite prevention and vaccination courses, we are experts in tailoring our services and advice to suit you and your pet's needs best.
Puppy and kitten vaccination courses can start as early 6 weeks if required.

Lab work

Lab work such as routine heartworm testing is carried out annually alongside your pets wellness visits, all within the comfort of your own home. We recommend routine bloodwork in older pets, those planning on undergoing anesthesia, pets on long-term medication or for any new pet with unknown history. We can run full blood panels alongside other laboratory work with our partner lab - IDEXX, with turnaround times often as fast as 24hrs.

Consultations

Our services are by appointment only. To give you peace of mind when your furry friend is unwell, we keep regular appointments available for minor sick visits which can be scheduled within a few days of calling. We always endeavor to be able to call by within a reasonable timescale, so your pet doesn't have to wait.

Please note - we are not a full service clinic or ER, and recommend for more urgent and life threatening ailments that you seek care at a full service or emergency veterinary clinic.

2

Surgery

We do not perform anesthesia and surgery in your home as we do not have the equipment or personnel available to do this safely. If we believe your pet needs services beyond our capability we refer to local veterinary practices to ensure any recommended surgery can be carried out in a safe, modern, and well - equipped hospital.

End of life care

Unfortunately, as our pets' get older, we as pet parents have to make decisions for them to maintain their comfort and quality of life as best we can. At My House Vet we provide geriatric care and palliative treatment options, until you are ready to say goodbye. Our mobile services are designed to ensure you have compassionate, empathetic and personal veterinary care when you need it the most, by providing peaceful euthanasia services in your pets' favourite place, and providing after-care options to suit each family.
